I made some 3D art based on Drawception games

Hey fellow Drawception-ers!

Aside from playing the occasional Drawception game, I like to create 3D art in my spare time. The past few days I've been working on two projects directly inspired by Drawception panels. I just wanted to show you the end result, as well as give shout outs to Calibretto23, freebiejeebies and Speedynat for creating the panels that inspired me to do these pieces.

Panels #10 and #12 of http://drawception.com/viewgame/5a9gG7cQfw/the-best-prompt-ever/ led me to create this:

"Technically Dead" http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8430/7825651776_576caab29a_h.jpg

I really liked the pun-like imagery of a Blue Screen of Death combined with a Grim Reaper.

Also, based on panel #10 of http://drawception.com/viewgame/X5af4Xt1W9/life-is-like-a-box-of-nyan-cats/ I create this piece:

"Life trapped in Time" http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7134/7825650814_417f93b8c0_h.jpg

Here the strange philosophical idea together with the cool concept of a cage made out of a word really spoke to me.

Now I'm really looking forward to making more of these, and am clicking through random Drawception games to try and find some cool panels. But perhaps you guys can suggest a few?

I'm looking for panels with some sort of visual pun in it preferably. Nothing with people in it though, those are a pain to model in 3D and not worth the time and effort. I really hope you post them here when you come across them, thanks!

WOW..... beautiful work. I especially like the life trapped in time. My son is a 3d specialist so I know the kind of work goes into that. Those both are awesome!

Wallpaper material!

I agree with Patty, I really like the second one. It's a good idea and you interpreted it very well. :)

I have no idea how much work get's into 3D work, I have only experience with Google sketch and some Sims modding, but even that is hard work, can't imagine doing anything like this. :)

@Patty-Wagon @Yolanna Thanks! There is definitely some work involved with every 3D project, but I learn a lot from each new creation, and it's amazingly fun to do, so it's all worth it.

@leilei I've got full HD 1080p versions of the images right here if anyone is thinking of using it as their wallpaper: Technically Dead: http://www.mediafire.com/?zbu85m2ug28e4yo Life trapped in Time: http://www.mediafire.com/?a9aysa8m3ac9as3

Also, I forgot to mention the speed art 'Making Of' videos here: Technically Dead: http://youtu.be/MfhMXUY2s2c Life trapped in Time: http://youtu.be/W5RKMhDPhOs

Wow, Onno, that's really neat! I'll try to keep you in mind next time I see an awesome panel.

Looking forward to seeing more!

I hope we get to see some 3D versions of cool "My Little Pony" drawings.

Nice renders and modelling skills there Onno. As for panel suggestions, purely selfishly I liked the interpretation of "A rather unusual snowglobe" here http://drawception.com/viewgame/FLYYELAFH9/the-future/ and I can see #4 providing a challenge (and doesn't have any humans in!)

Also a recent game, http://drawception.com/viewgame/gOR7RHPOPP/robamacop-2012/ , where the later frames turned into a love story between a robot and a fax machine ...

@Shparks @SailorButterfly Thanks!

@Shparks I don't think any more MLP fan-creations is necessary in this internet... :P

@shamarama Thank you! I kinda like those two panels as well, and will definitely see if I can make something out of it. In the mean time I'm already working on another one.

@Onno - Hurrah for MLP rejection!

Really nice, I like the Grim Reaper one. The shadows are the slightest bit off on the last one, but I'm ashamed for noticing that in such a great piece of artwork.

Hey guys,

I've finished another two drawception-inspired images:

Based on this drawception game suggested by shamarama: http://drawception.com/viewgame/FLYYELAFH9/the-future/

"Unusual Snowglobe" http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8288/7866252790_4dd39c7476_h.jpg

High-res image: http://www.mediafire.com/?h8ov19vh7lxa57v

Making Of video: ** Coming soon, check http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=C4DSpeedArt **

And based on this fun drawception game: http://drawception.com/viewgame/z7rpdkHspz/what-would-heisenberg-do/

"Inconvenient Emergency Hammer" http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8302/7866252180_53167684c3_h.jpg

High-res image: http://www.mediafire.com/?ckveqnborjh95se

Again, I would love your comments on the pieces, as well as suggestions for other drawception panels to base some more work on.

Kind regards, Onno http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=C4DSpeedArt

I looked through the first five pages of my Favorites list to find a few suggestions:

Calvin and Tigger has several good panels. http://drawception.com/viewgame/c1LTPNWYeT/calvin-tigger/

Badass Furby is pretty sweet. http://drawception.com/viewgame/E1CYb1rHH1/furbies-are-indestructible-and-scary/

Pac-Man eating the Titanic would be cool in 3D. http://drawception.com/viewgame/WqBRByPD3x/titanics-alternate-ending/

I almost want to do a 3d remake of my panel here http://drawception.com/viewgame/Bekkk1LXO4/mustangs-mustang/

Oh wow, that would be epic, albeit extremely difficult to pull off. Nicely drawn by the way!

I also looked in my Favorites and here are my tips: Sockland would be nice surreal art: http://drawception.com/viewgame/bAQSxPawTR/where-the-other-sock-went/

Epic Space Bar Battle or Candy Solar System: http://drawception.com/viewgame/256LgZCaap/space-battle/

I lava you: http://drawception.com/viewgame/FyY195LDwj/i-lava-you/

And Wall-E goes very bad - I think #2, #6 or #10 would be awesome: http://drawception.com/viewgame/53zK6Yw29M/epic-walle-dragon/
