Playing Drawception from iPhone/Android (TEST)

I know in the FAQ it says that there is no app yet, but you can play it from your iPhone or iPad. I decided to test it out. I have an iPhone 3GS (old phone) and a Samsung Galaxy Note. I went to the sandbox to test it out. Here's how it went:

iPhone 3GS (running on iOS 4.0): page load fine, can see all the buttons, I zoom in to get a good view of the board. If i click on the buttons it does nothing. Can't change color or size. Also it wont draw, it only scrolls around. Export drawing button doesn't work. I never tested if you can describe drawings, but I can go back and check if anybody wants. So basically it's useless on my iPhone. Not sure if it's because of it's version of software is so old, or if it's like that for everyone. (please share your experiences)

Samsung Galaxy Note (on IceCreamSandwich): Page loads fine, I zoom in and make the drawing panel most my screen in landscape zone. I can click all the buttons to change size, color, undo, eraser. It draws, but with a little lag. Also it scrolls sometimes when you want to draw. To be honest, it's very annoying to draw on, even with the tablet pen that comes with the phone. I can draw the same with the trackpad of my mac with less effort sadly. Here's an example of what I drew on the Galaxy Note on Drawception's Sandbox : link (my drawings with my wacom are much better, but i'm still no artist, not even close)

Please share your experiences with your phones/tablets. Also include your OS that you're running on (if you know).

(I hope they come out with an app for both Android and iPhone when/if they do. I think a lot more people would play once it hit the Android/iPhone/iPad markets.)

I had an iPad and I use a stylus. Basically its not amazing, but since I don't have any other tablet, and my mouse drawing skills are sorely lacking, it's the best I can do. However, it's not too bad. Yes, it still lags, and it's still a little off, but it runs pretty well. You still have to select a couple of times for the colours and stroke size, but otherwise it's not too bad. It gives me better leeway, but my drawing is terrible anyway, so I'm not entirely dissatisfied with the whole process XD

For Android, I've used a Galaxy Note 2 and a nexus 7 and nexus 10. Since android allows you to connect a mouse with a USB host cable, I usually use that as it's 100x better than a stylus. I have a capacitive stylus that I use with my tablets, and my Note comes with the S-Pen, they're all right for drawing basic stuff but fail on the finer details. I've seen some promising threads on xda to make Wacom-like drawing tablets work with android, so that may be an option in the near future too.

My sister has an Apple tablet, I tried using it once to play DC but every time a drawing panel came up there was just a blank square where the tools and canvas should have loaded. Could have been a PEBKAC problem as I've haven't used an Apple product since the Macintosh I

I sometimes use my iPad to play Drawception. The bad thing about it is that sometimes when you draw it's like it's "zooming in" on the screen spontaneously and that can be annoying at times. Another thing is that if you have not done anything else to the spell checker it sometimes writes down the wrong word. These things don't happen when you are playing on a computer.

A third thing that is not so fun when I'm playing DC on an iPad, is that you can't see the notifications. If a Drawception app comes I hope that is not going to be a problem and that we can see them. It can also run a bit slow:(

But the drawing prosess itself is better on an iPad, after my opinion. I think it's because I draw trackpad drawings on my laptop:( I don't think that playing this on an iPad as an overall problem, quite the contrary, and I hope an app is soon to be available :D
