My points just changed to Level 51!
What does it all mean???
Did you wish upon a double rainbow?
It means you broke Drawception! Thanks a lot!
He's been talking about adding levels for ages. Looks like they're on their way.
Question is...which attributes should I add points to when I go up a level? I'm thinking dual-pen-wielding. That way I can draw twice as fast.
lvl.13 FTW. I have no idea how the system works, and from what I've worked out in 5 seconds it looks roughly 25 points per level.
If that were true I'd be level 328. Its definitely a sliding scale.
Prestiges?
I'm at 48 ... interesting.
How in Hells name am I a 51? I'm sure a lot of you gus had higher points than me?
You level up REALLY fast up to a point, then it takes a LOT of points it seems. Corvax has 4-5 thousand more points than me and he's only 3 levels higher. Someone with 250 points is level 12.
Well, it's roughly 25 points per lvl to get to lvl 13 :P But of course, maths doesn't work that way. When you're as inactive (and as bad at drawing) as me then comparing lvls doesn't seem as satisfying as points. I prefer seeing 320 points instead of level 13 :( Either way, It's a nice addition.
From the FAQ:
How do I increase my level? What does it do? You increase your level by earning XP, which is given to you when other players like your drawings or descriptions. Your level determines how many games you can play at once and the ability to create public games. In the future level will also affect other areas of the game.
I think it'll incentivize the lower level players while de-centivizing the higher level ones. But the higher level ones usually dont play for points anyway, so that may not be too big of a deal.
And just to add my previous comment, I think the XP should work similar to RPG games like Pokémon and Final Fantasy. Like 100 XP to a level then with every 10 consecutive levels the no. of XP needed would go up by 25 or sutin.
All we need are character classes now.
Before long, limited colour pallets will be introduced then :(
Yeah, I was hoping that that idea might have quietly gone away.
It's sort of mentioned on the tumblr here: http://drawceptiondev.tumblr.com/
I don't like this. Luckly I can still se my score here in the forum. I don't look at the score to see how big it is, just at how much it has changed.
The problem is the limited color pallets are only going to affect low levels by the time it comes about, because we'll all be a high enough level to qualify for the full pallet.
I imagine that will discourage low level players who are currently playing more than anything else, but would help those who haven't already started DC to be interested in really playing it a bunch.
