Levels Chart

Hey all, is there a levels chart that shows what is gained at certain thresholds? For example, is there a point where I'm not limited to 25 simultaneous games? I feel like that's a new restriction. It may also be helpful to encourage new players! :)

Since you have 483 games vs. 105 drawings in your profile, I don't think you're in a position to complain too much. If you'd spent ten minutes drawing each of the 25 panels that you have in your queue, chances are that you'd never end up with 25 games in progress. One would always end up finishing whilst you were drawing.

If you keep captioning 3-4 panels for every 1 you draw, you're going to end up with a full queue very quickly, and low levels of personal satisfaction per game. If you take some time to actually draw a few panels now and then, you'll end up with a greater sense of accomplishment as well as a lesser sense of frustration at games completing "slowly".

25 games at once should be enough for anybody.

I wasn't complaining about the 25 game limit - other than noting that it was recently turned on. (I actually rarely hit the limit). It just made me wonder if there was a published levels chart that someone could show a new user to explain when they would have access to certain goodies.

Secondly, while I do have a large caption to drawing ratio, that's mostly because a) I play a lot on mobile where captioning is easier and b) I'm still developing drawing skill to the point that I can draw more of what's being asked. The ratio will even out when I'm happy with what I'm able to do.

Sorry if it appeared snarky! :)

Personally I like the idea of a level chart. The unlockables might also encourage people to pump out more quality work rather than simple stick figure or nonsensical prompt.

There was a level chart of how many points it takes to get to a certain level we were putting together in another thread, but I don't think one exists with what level unlocks what.

I did create a new account and I've been playing with that one only using a mouse. I'm not sure how I'll test out some of the things to figure them out, but that's one way we can figure it out!

Welcome to the mouse-side :) It would be pretty hard to test for the limitations by level, since every level you'd have to be at the maximum. For example, each level you'd have to cap out # of games created and # of games active. Then record when it goes up and what level it was. There's behind the scenes stuff you'd never know as well, like when your skip is used for the dustcatcher, when your Skip+Report is actually a report (I dont know if low limits are restricted just a guess).

@TKDG

I'm a mouse user myself - I love using the Chrome zoom to actually get edges sharp and actually place text if i need to.

@KX

Agreed. I was more wondering if that info had already been released. Keeping a dummy account maxed out in the name of SCIENCE would probably be too much of a bother to do. I suppose keeping it under wraps also limits the bot voting that might happen to boost a troll high enough to mess with people. Ah well.

I know at Level 3, You're able to Create your own games.

I was curious if anyone could tell me around what level I may be able to have more than 8 games going on at once? I'm super excited for that!!!! :)

And eventually I'll be able to unlock more colors? Anyone know what levels around that may happen?

I wasn't aware that the color limitation had kicked in yet!

My mouse account which is a low level has all colors available, and has for all the time I've used it. It's level 5 now, so either when you hit level 5 you'll unlock them or you already have them. There's only 16!

Also It looks like sometime around the Level 4 mark the number of games you can play increases as well

@tkdgirl - I interpreted the colors announcement as implying that maybe at some point, those with higher levels might be able to get (and maybe pick their own?) extra colors... not that there was some plan to reduce the palette even further.

Frankly, the current palette already is one of my main reasons for playing infrequently, though to be fair, with a 10 min limit, more color choice is likely to only foster more lost time, I'd guess.

But I do find it hard to imagine being willing to keep playing with even fewer colors... though maybe people could voluntarily pick up added levels by choosing a more restrictive palette? That could be kind of interesting.
