Playing Drawception from iPhone/Android (TEST)

I know in the FAQ it says that there is no app yet, but you can play it from your iPhone or iPad. I decided to test it out. I have an iPhone 3GS (old phone) and a Samsung Galaxy Note. I went to the sandbox to test it out. Here's how it went:

iPhone 3GS (running on iOS 4.0): page load fine, can see all the buttons, I zoom in to get a good view of the board. If i click on the buttons it does nothing. Can't change color or size. Also it wont draw, it only scrolls around. Export drawing button doesn't work. I never tested if you can describe drawings, but I can go back and check if anybody wants. So basically it's useless on my iPhone. Not sure if it's because of it's version of software is so old, or if it's like that for everyone. (please share your experiences)

Samsung Galaxy Note (on IceCreamSandwich): Page loads fine, I zoom in and make the drawing panel most my screen in landscape zone. I can click all the buttons to change size, color, undo, eraser. It draws, but with a little lag. Also it scrolls sometimes when you want to draw. To be honest, it's very annoying to draw on, even with the tablet pen that comes with the phone. I can draw the same with the trackpad of my mac with less effort sadly. Here's an example of what I drew on the Galaxy Note on Drawception's Sandbox : http://i.imgur.com/xoRfs.jpg (my drawings with my wacom are much better, but i'm still no artist, not even close)

Please share your experiences with your phones/tablets. Also include your OS that you're running on (if you know).

(I hope they come out with an app for both Android and iPhone when/if they do. I think a lot more people would play once it hit the Android/iPhone/iPad markets.)

I urrrrr.. realized I posted this in the wrong catagory... I was going to start it off asking about iPhone and Android apps in the future, but turned it into me testing out an iPhone and Droid phone with the site.

Should i repost this to General or Bug Reports or just leave it?

I have the same problem trying to play on my kindle fire. You can't change color or size and when you try to draw something it just scrolls around. Also the time does not run, it just says 600. You can write descriptions though and the time will run for that.

I guess you can just leave the thread here, your suggestion being that they REALLY make it available on iPad/iPhone and such.

On the iPad I can select colors and brush sizes and such just fine, but the page does this weird blinking thing when I draw.

I have no personal experience on the iPhone/iPod/Kindle Fire/etc/etc, though, so I'll trust you guys on that :)

A proper app would be nice, but personally I prefer playing on the regular ol' computer. But if there was an app, DC could very possibly wrest the fame stick from Draw Something.

I'd go ahead and cross post this to the Bugs, but leave this one here.

Thanks everybody for the replies! and I will cross post this over. And I'm glad I'm not the only one that was having a hard time with using it online with a phone/tablet.

I've been playing around a bit more on my Samsung Galaxy Note. I've found it better to use than using the trackpad on my macbook, but it's still too tedious to write words because little swipes are taken as scrolling instead of writing. To get around this, i normally end up writing in cursive.

I really really hope they make an app. I would be so happy!

I've tried it out with an ASUS TF101 and the game is fully functional. If I zoom in with the browser and use my fingers on the screen, there are times that it thinks I'm trying to pan the screen, but I was able to complete a drawing or two that way. I then tried out the keyboard attachment that has a touchpad, and the touchpad is very accurate, where I could outline shapes almost perfectly. much better experience than touching the screen or using a mouse, although now I wish the pad were larger. I think an actual app designed for tablets is gonna be the way to go and I hope it's being seriously considered already. this game has me looking at drawing tablets already in less than 24 hours
