Drawing In Time pictures

Old VHS recorders had speed control, some even allowed for playing backwards. Even YouTube nowadays have speed control.

Even though I can drag the knob, it leads to a non-uniform play. With a fast-forward feature, the playing can look like time-lapse video. The play will also have a higher and smoother framerate than me dragging the knob. Still, that's just a feature for the wishlist. No need to worry about it now. :)

"Dragging the knob" just sounds so wrong...

I already made those supporting arguments denil ... I don't think we'll get much play over them :p

And, heck, youtube's current playback speed controls are a bit of a joke. Though, something like that would certainly be cool here, just tweaked a little (0.5, 1, 2, 4 and 8x instead of 0.25, 0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2?). Plus a jump-back-10-seconds command or something, which I've seen on some online video (especially webinar) interfaces, but again, not yet on YT.

*drags knob* ohh yeah that's the stuff

BTW, I'm still using the old VCRs. It even pains me that most of them don't have the flexibility that our old, now largely inoperable JVC did, with it's jog/shuttle controller. Something like three speed levels both above and below 1x (so 3x, 7x, 14x and 1/2x, 1/4x, 1/10th or something) in both directions, which you could vary with a springloaded twistgrip and frame-by-frame control using a rotary clickwheel affair. Made it very very easy to spin through and review stuff on tape and find the exact place to start recording from at the end of a previous segment. Some DVDs and PVRs come notionally close to replicating that, but none of them quite manage it.

I've been using the new canvas in game, so you can watch some of my drawings now... Nothing as interesting as what I put in this topic, though.

Who else is using the new canvas to play? Clunse is the only other person I've noticed with replay links on their panels.

OK, I'm a bit slow on this kind of stuff, and I haven't read the entire thread, but…is this compatible with actual DC gameplay? Or is it sandbox only?

NekoLulu 70 [ Tue, Sep 23rd 2014 @ 2:10pm ]

I think I'll start using it. It's compatible with DC gameplay, you just have to turn it on in your settings.

I made a webpage listing all Drawception players with replayable drawings known to me. Feel free to add players not yet in the list.

I found out how to activate the new canvas, but my game (in the Drawings in your queue or something like that) hasn't finished yet.

More people to watch!

I mean in the watching their drawings get created way.

Watch this monstrosity happen in real time!

Mew knows what will happen when he finishes that bottle.

I did this. It took me 30 minutes. And I used a reference, I don't think I'd be able to do something like this otherwise...

Bonus points if someone knows who she is.
